Chinese Premier Li Qiang, speaking at the opening of the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions (Summer Davos) in Tianjin, emphasized China's ambition to transform into a super-sized consumption powerhouse, building on its robust manufacturing base. He highlighted China's willingness to address global economic challenges and invited international businesses to invest, assuring that China will maintain an open, market-oriented, and law-based business environment. Li also stated that China is ready to share its technological innovations with the world, deepen integration with the global market, and strengthen industrial collaboration, noting that these efforts will contribute to revitalizing global economic growth. He expressed confidence in China's economic trajectory, citing a 5.4 percent GDP growth in the first quarter of 2025 and ongoing improvements in key economic indicators.

Li called for constructive international cooperation to address the volatility in cross-border investment and the risks of fragmented supply chains. He urged countries to resolve disputes through equal consultations based on mutual respect, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding free trade, multilateralism, and stable global economic development. The premier also stressed the need for enhanced macro policy coordination to ensure the stability and resilience of global industrial and supply chains, particularly as the international economic landscape evolves with the rise of the Global South and the growth of emerging trade sectors. Themed "Entrepreneurship for a New Era," the event gathered over 1,700 leaders from more than 90 countries to discuss how entrepreneurship and emerging technologies can drive more dynamic and resilient economies.
